Carb cycling is an eating plan that alternates high carb and low carb days, and is very effective for fat burning.  Your body typically burns carbs for energy, so by lowering your carb intake for a specific amount of time, your body will naturally turn to other sources of fuel (fats).  Carb cycling tricks your body into burning fat for energy on low carb days, and restocks your body with the carbs it needs to still function properly on high carb days.  

This is not a nutrition plan that is meant to be maintained over a long period of time, but if done correctly, can provide amazing results in the short term.  There are many approaches you can take to a carb cycling program, depending on your end goal.
